Why become a volunteer educator
- Changing the future starts with teaching it.
- You like volunteering and you enjoy engaging with kids.
- You believe that teaching kids about protecting the environment empowers them to become responsible, eco-conscious adults..
How it works
- It’s free —just need to apply and complete a 1-hour online course and a background check.
- Receive a badge certifying you as an educator of the Rescue Ocean Academy.
- Get access to the educator drive to support your teaching efforts.
- Join a videoconference each term with founder Benoît Schumann to foster constructive dialogue and share insights together.
What you’ll need to do
- Communicate with your designated educator referent.
- As a certified Rescue Ocean Academy educator, you'll visit kindergarten through 12th grade classrooms to teach an up to 2-hour session on protecting our environment through awareness and action.
- You will need to be available one week during class hours.
Recognitions
- Receive a certificate of accreditation as a certified Rescue Ocean Educator.
- Be introduced to the entire NGO community through our newsletter
- Be featured on our social media to highlight your commitment.
- Participate in our annual team seminar and connect with fellow Project Rescue team members.

We’re opening more Rescue Ocean Academy awareness hubs as we grow and as demand increases.
